Best guess - around 1970 - John was severly injured after the end of his kilo run, flipped by a boat wake . I am sure there is someone on here that can give us an exact story.

I have never seen 2 of those pictures. Looks like John tested that boat before putting one of his signature paint jobs on it. I knew he had been hurt in that boat and I never saw it when I was at his shop, was it destroyed in the accident?
