Nice! I was only able to do R11 in the walls and R19 in the ceiling. You're gonna be sealed up nice.

Gonna sheet rock it all too? I did all that after insulation, and when done had a buddy electrician wire in 2 100 circuits and 220 and is on the rock, not in the walls. Against code, but this aint no house and want it done my way.

Looks like ya getting a good start!

I really like how its coming out.
Used 7/16" OSB sheeting. My door guy tried hard to talk me into metal like the outer walls are built with. They also put a plastic vapor barrier between the insulation and plywood.
I don't like the look or the fact that it's not flat and this painted white will reflect way more light. Plus I've got 40 yrs of pix's and posters to hang on my new walls.

Couldn't be happier. Except that one ahlcy worker is helping himself, borrowing my tools to replace the ones he forgets. I locked the boxes

Damn...."Garage Mahal" in the making! I did rock because the guy I bought the place from (friend my sister) had did the stick frame, and already the side facing the house was rocked as code to build said so. Rest a blank canvas me.

No big on OSB either as if ya want to add shelves, etc, no bother to find wall studs. On my at one time flat white rock? Now tan as many motors fired in here, gearheads friday nite happy hour those that have to work smoking (ya guilty as NOT IN THE HOUSE! At least I don't work!).

Me thinks "all ya want for Christmas", is a couple 5 gallon buckets white gloss, electric spray gun with P/U tube in the bucket and go at it! But thats better warmer weather and down the line.

And this?.."40 yrs of pix's and posters to hang on my new walls"?

Think ya mean now like my at one time "walls" are now ..

Wall of Fame! Many mems up there everywhere and too many looking only see the "past", but to me when I sit out here alone?

Every damn THING I have out here ... They ALL have a story me, the "I remember when..........."

Also think of "loft storage" over the work benches. No need big.(look my pics) but easy storage, and do it 4/6 foot up with flo lights over the work bench. Also think as ya got room, leave a space for a "clean room" that ya can plastic off need for painting/sanding dust. And ya got the height so needed ceiling fan needed middle for heat season. (Damn I'm great at spending another's money!)

But heres a pic my friends shop. Its down the road from us as they both live water front, and simple no more room here them..(married). Still a work in progress but something done with the high ceiling. Co-owned 2 friends me and have"wives". Well they need a bathroom, and a TV room and comfy recliners to set and BS.

    Thanx guys!

As to drywall Vs plywood...., bump drywall w/a mower = hole.
Will also become a sponge absorbing condensation from the constant temperature changes.

Shopping for cheap ceiling fans now, to get the heat down from the ceiling.

A little off topic, but I heard from someone that OSB board has a higher R value insulation rating than drywall. Anyone know if that's true?

I would guess that to be true. Wallboard would likely transmit the heat more so than the OSB.

BTW, just checked and they're done w/the second wall and trying to figure out how to get the plywood to the bottom of the trusses 14' over their heads They have scaffolding but not enough. I will wager they end up renting a man lift.
