Pretty comparison
How do you think an Allison SS2000 and a HydraStream Venom stack up against each other? (looks, handling, speed, value, and all that)
Pics of both on the same thread would be nice.

Allison has the reputation as the best 20 foot sport V-bottom. Period. I've been in and driven both - both are 100 MPH+ boats. If it was my money - Allison.

Both are great looking boats. But every hydrostream has to be redone. Core floor and such. You won't find many Allison resto threads.

Build quality on the Allison is going to be better. That's not to say the Venom is bad, just that Allison is pretty much the elite in that category. I personally would love to own either one of them. An ss is going to get hairy after 110+ and that's just how it's gunna be. Both are some of the most efficient hulls out there. A promax on an SS should see 100+ without too much trouble. I like the styling of the rear seat in the venom with the cup holders, but if you ever wanted to get really friendly you could fit 5 in an SS which isn't possible with the molded buckets in the back of the venom. By numbers, my guess would be there are more SS's out there for sale, but could be wrong. My dream boat would probably be a carbon fiber SS, but I'm sure that would be some serious coin.

Having owned & raced both here's my take on the Ss/venom. Hands down the venom is the better Handling of the 2.. Value & build quality go to the Ss by far. Speed would be very close between the 2, however If drag racing I prefer to have the venom .. Hard to beat a well setup venom off the line.. Both great boats

Build quality on the Venom im running is poor.
Ive done extensive glass work to it to keep the water on the outside.
I love the handling. It performs well with a drag/sportmaster and also my little 2.4/CLE.
I cant get it to do anything crazy or unexpected. Drives wonderfully.
Looks Fantastic.!!!
Photo is from Janna running the Suwannee River.
