New F series trucks with 6 speed auto
If you own a newer Ford truck with the 6 speed auto DO NOT wait for 60,000 miles like ford sez to do a trans service on it. The valve body is making fine metal pcs upon break in and they are getting into the solenoids causing problems. My new F150 had a trans code pop up and going to the dealer metal bits were on the shift control solenoids causing the code. Replaced the lead plate and OSS sensor, oil and filter. Mine had 36000 pampered miles on it when this appeared. Dealer fixed it, but I am now aware of the reason and would like to help other F series owners to avoid it. I will now do 20,000 mile services on mine myself. It isn't hard to do. Also a magnafine trans cooling line filter might help to avoid this if you do nothing else. Other than this(knock on wood) my truck has been great. Why Ford says 60,000 miles is a mystery......

Tundra's are far from perfect. No reason to look back, you will always be running behind the Fords and Chevy's and Dodge's.

LOL I was a die hard ford fan for years.. my last two trucks 2003 F250 3 years old entire bed side on wheel wells rotted out, exhaust manifold started leaking on both sides, and the awesome Triton motor spit out 2x spark plugs.. all with less than 70K miles.. Next truck F150 and transmission started slipping with 30K miles on it, had it serviced and traded it in on Tundra.. Fit and finish of the Tundra is far superior to the Fords.. Chevy? ya right maybe a duramax chevy but not the Silverado gas motor, and the interior of the chevy looks like its fresh out of the late 90's with dated electronics, cheap interior dressings, etc.. Dodge.. They look nice and sound nice but idk they just aren't for me.. Toyota did it right.. Fuel mileage is horrible but fit and finish, warranty, and reliability is there in the Tundra, not to mention you can get a FACTORY supplied, and warrantied super charger for 550HP at $6500 out the door.. not too shabby
I would say id rank current offerings as follows
Tundra
F150
Ram
Chevy
Titan
This excludes the F150 raptor which I think is best offering specialty purpose built truck ford has ever made in stock form.
Eco boost is a great concept / awesome but after owning 8 fords between trucks and service vans I had to make a switch due to reliability and rust issuesLast edited by aggiestckl; 11-09-2015 at 04:02 PM.

WOW I've ben watchin this thread and have very mixed opinions. I use Yota trucks for my construction co. BUT I have Ford 250s for plowing and my 83 Bronco to tow my boats. THEY ALL SUCK!!! I just try to make things work as best as I can. Do taxi cab maintaince and everything may hold up! I use synthetic fluids and wash the sucker every week! My 1990 Camry wagon has 423K miles ( just use it to go to camp) and will go way by 500! Gary

Had an 1989 Toyota 4Runner for 13 years with 38" tires never had a problem, I was scared when I bought my 2003 Ford F-150 knock on wood no problems except noisy a/c compressor. I do feel better saying I drive a Ford. And I plan on keeping it a few more years, a lot better then a $500 payment.

I hear ya Cullen but sometimes we gut to go with what works....I had the same problem when I bought the "M" tools in the 80s.
I needed cordless tools working up on solar rooms and had no choice.
I can't operate my busniess by buyin tools(including trucks) that don't last. BTW I think I'm feedin more robots than japs!

No jap crap allowed in my driveway.
I don't like toy trucks quit playing with them when
I was 12.
I'm on my 3rd F250 diesel.
The one I'm driving now I bought new in 2000 7.3 6 speed ZF
255,000 miles. Last two F250 I traded in had 350,000 miles on them.
I drive my vehicals a long time. Only issues I've had are normal wear items.
