Tried to help ya, but ya get bitchy me, 60 plus years wet? (And FU very much..on "Nascar". SUCKS!) And I was M/C flat tracking, circle boats, when you were in diapers. And I'm still a drag racer.

Oh yeah, for the clueless in a boat? Right/Left? THINK the amount letters.."Starboard is right, and green. Port? red and left.
So your telling me that if I am turning right I am going to port?
    Etymology

Middle English sterbord, from Old English stēor (“steer”) +‎ bord (“side (of a ship)”). Ships had to dock on their left (port) side because the steering oar on the right would get in the way, which is how the left became known as the port side.
    Pronunciation

    Noun

    starboard (plural starboards)

    1. The right hand side of a ship, boat or aircraft when facing the front, or fore or bow. Starboard does not change based on the orientation of the person aboard the craft.
    2. (nautical) One of the two traditional watches aboard a ship standing a watch in two.
    3. Want to talk about clueless?

Yep, skeg tab is definitely in the water when prop shaft is an 1 1/2" above the pad. So, if I turn right I'm turning to port? Facing forward starboard is to the right. I agree that Nascar sucks, but as far as being young, you couldn't be more wrong. Might not be as ancient as you but I was born in 1955. I am an experienced deep water sailor and navigator and when someone says come to starboard I know which way to go. The guys says he eases to starboard so I assume he steering right which forces the lower back to the left, like a torque tab. I am glad you run surface props, but do you honestly think I run anything else? Started in the late 70's. Get over yourself. Just because I don't race doesn't mean I can't think. The OP isn't drag racing either, just running his boat. Some of us don't give a crap about sanctioned drag racing, we're just enjoying our boat and going as fast as possible. Did you read the thesis I'm talking about? Sorry if you thought I was getting bitchy but I think you misunderstood my post. I respect your knowledge and don't want to offend you, but also respect that I have learned a thing or two from my own experience. While you were drag racing, I was a national martial art competitor. If you had ever stepped out there, you would be the one in a diaper.

I believe this is MR D's pic. Should get you on the same page.

Correct. He needs a bigger tab.

...and that is MY skeg tab, and my Stanley battery charger.

Dude, I said this as some simple can't remember. I didn't say you don't know.

"Starboard is right, and green. Port? red and left".
    Then you say this?
"So your telling me that if I am turning right I am going to port"

    Where did I say that?

Anyway, what I was referring to on LH, and RH props, single drive? I had a 25 barge with a VP280 OD. Flip a lever in the mid, and now to were reverse was is now forward. And it was made to run either direction. Put a LH prop on it, and it was MUCH easier to get into my slip coming into it "from the left", without banging off the boat next me. Thats what I meant about left turning boats racing, with RH props. It would make more sense to run LF props, as easier to turn left! Pilot a boat with both RH, and LF props, same boat, and you would understand what I was trying to say.

Anyway, we are on the same page, just different books. No big, means little in the long run anyway.

No big deal Robby. You are right that for racing a counter-rotating prop would make more sense. We all agree that you know your stuff

Shut up ya crazy "Heathen"...or .."no beer for you . And give this fart a break here! Been retired 20 years now. Yeah, only 64, but in "party years"? 117 easy, (8 hours sleep a night my ass, PARTY ON Always the "last man standing anyway", as might as well go home...party over, all passed out now, sun rising anyway!

Freddy, on doing the "M Arts?" Great skill to achieve, and don't come easy. As ya say born 55 now, ya missed the fun in Nam bet. Heres a fun story ya all. Remember in Basic training, 1968. We did the (forgot name), double 6 foot long sticks with a punching bag attached each end. 2 us equal height and weight in the ring. Well, I paired up with the meanest, tough 18 year old, that was already a "Black Belt". DAMN..bell rung, and FAST my bell "rung" too, seeing stars on the ground! Then his training took over, and "swift kicked me on the ground". He got in trouble for that, but I damn sure learned a "lesson".

Then "jungle training for Nam". Then Nam, real thing..(paid off as my name aint on the black marble wall"

Thing is here? Hell, I dunno, as you guys run chit I never dreamed would come about in real fast boats. Guess chit has REALLY changed over the decades.

But the whole run me, now almost 60 years wet?

And on "left/right?. Been riding MCs 55 years. Always "lead the pack". I still don't know left from right I guess. Stop some intersection.."say take a left here" So I pull away and go right?

All said later.."just point which way we should go"! (Dumass. )..

And Pete? Being retired and "bearded..(whoops, thats the face), mean "beered"

And toss in some green leafy substance? (legal now, like I ever gave a chit since Nam anyway)

Well in person me Bsing a party? BET I still be the "last man standing"

I'm a "weeble", as "webbles wobble, but they dont fall down!..(kinda, its a wasted and age thing me) And GRAVITY SUCKS TOO!

Anyway, what else can I say?

    Southpark, "Cartman"...
