Jerry please define to us exactly what a assault weapon is. Is it a type of gun that looks scary or any weapon that is used in an assault? Hammers, Knives, Pots, Pans that can bash your brains out? Please understand this. The last shooting was not caused by an assult weapon nor was one found. The alledged assult weapon found in the trunk has none whatsoever comparison to a assault weapon.

Who let Jerry out of his "tool box"? No Jerry, they probably had M1, M2 carbines (with those oh so nasty 30rnd magazines), M1 Garands, and a variety of other weapons. Yes any weapon can be classified as an assault weapon.
Let me ask Jerry something... If I hit you with a base ball bat, that is assault, right? So does that make it an "assault bat".Dummkopf!

Yeah, I agree 100%. At least after butting heads with the NRA, Biden has brought in the gaming industry. I have a 5yr old and it is a struggle to monitor what he sees. I feel deeply for the victims and survivors of the recent events, but I think if you could rewind the perpetrators you would find these games in their history.

The morons in charge of the town I live in decided to put a cop in every one of the 9 elementary schools for 7 hours a day. Hmmm, beforecare starts at 6AM, Aftercare ends at 6PM. So maybe the bad guys should come during the other 5 hours? Or maybe they can just kill kids at the mall or snipe them from 500 yards away while the cop is sitting at the door and the kids are on the playground... It's ludicrous. First off, the cop would probably be the first one dead in this situation, it would cost over a million / year to keep them there and what are they going to do, take them off the road to fill the positions at the schools?? Hire more??? If you take them off the road you have even less chance of a rapid response to any location that might have a major violent crime incident. The likelihood of this happening in YOUR school is VERY low. But it CAN happen anywhere or anytime. Best thing to do is to keep maximum police manpower on the road and keep them well trained at rapid response, 5 man active shooter teams, arm the police appropriately to deal with different types of crimes, training training training. One of the first things cut out of police budgets is training.

The thing about it is this, most of these attacks are by people who have no right to these guns to begin with. Most if not all of the guns used in school attacks were taken without permission or stolen; they were not bought legally by the attackers. Most criminals who kill using guns obtained the guns illegally through either stealing them or through the black market..... Yes, there are a few legal gun owners that crack and kill someone, but most are from the use of illegally obtained guns. So, if you were to put a ban on guns, you'd still not stop the criminals and sickos from getting guns............ Even if you were to completely shut down all gun manufacturers and seize all the known guns out there, there would still be plenty of "unknown" guns in the criminal possession and that my friend would be the travesty.......

we have designated a police force dedicated to the school system. they even have their own patrol cars, with lettering on the side stating them as "school police". hmm, how wierd we must be. yep us down here in the "south" are just,,, whatever your word dejour of the day to somehow make yourselves feel better about yourselves, is just "LAUGHABLE". fun out
AT A 100 PLUS, that was just a thought towards people thinking the south is kinda backwards. you and I have not an an ax to grind, and welcome your thoughts, but alot of noreasterners have a built in distain for us down here, hopefully no offence is taken, but the deal about "duval county school police" IS REAL. google it.Last edited by mr fun; 01-11-2013 at 09:33 PM.
