Government statistics for the year 2010 records 40 homicides involving firearms, out of the 53 cases of homicide in 2010.The annual rate of homicide by any means per 100,000 population was 0.70.The annual rate of homicide by guns per 100,000 population was 0.52.

Something is wrong here in the USA.

Fact is we need to come up with solutions to lower the chance of these kinds of things happening. More gun laws will not stop a determined person from a mass killing. Mass killing are planed out and the person doing it, if determined enough, will use other means to carry out the act. So we need to look at how to deter these nut jobs from carrying out the act. We need to make it less attractive to them, so to speak.

or... something is missing..... morality! it doesn't seem to be taught like it used to.... There already exists a law that should have prevented these mass killings if taught..."THOU SHALT NOT KILL"... there's nine others too.... but no one seems to want to hear them any longer....

I agree Dave. But this Horrible Event could have been avoided if the mother had of taken preventative action and not had HER guns available to a 20 year old that she knew was a loose cannon with a mental unbalance.

Don't ever kid your self... you can bet he was in SHES that day and everyone there was praying to him.... but you don't have to believe in God, Buddha, Mohammad, etc to have Morals, Honor & Integrity... you have to be taught these things... and we as a society have stopped teaching them... we teach freedom to do whatever or whomever whenever you want... and look what we got....

We even did it in our Lunch Room. How about IN GOD WE TRUST. Thats going Away. How about the Ten Commandements being posted at Public buildings? Thats going away. We as a nation have pushed GOD aside and we have and are rapidly loosing our Core Morals. People don't have to believe thats their choice BUT I STILL DO. Inspite of me being a HEATHEN.

My kids went to Catholic school, God, Jesus, the apostles, the whole gang was there. It might have killed their views of organized religion, but they developed a good set of morals.

If what you say is correct how come we here in NZ don't have these mass killings? Take the accessibility to guns out of the equation why do you think that they will use alternative means? In other countries that has not proved to be the case.
