Suwannee on July 4th
Barring any floods, tornados or Presidental edicts, Lord willing we are going to try and spend the 4th on the Suwannee.
Tom Foley,
it looks like the water is coming up nicely, hopefully not up to flood stage. Since you are the expert, let us know.
We'll probably take the boat and leave the PWCs at home.

Not the expert Tom is. LOL But I just got the skinny from Po BOY (My Mom that lives in Suwannee) Reporting Fowlers Bluff (below Jack's sandbar) is above flood stage with non-stilt homes already underwater and roads closed. Further up river is expected to reach and exceed flood stage tomorrow. When the water from south GA, Liveoak, etc. runs-off and into the river it will certainly reach flood stage where we normally boat. During times of extreme flooding the river becomes a no-wake zone in populated areas to help protect and preserve what is left of the folks personal property. Prolly a good idea to check back later before committing. Radar looks like Jax and Lake city is getting hammered with rain right now.

That is what I was afraid of that we would go from too little to too much. We won't go if it is all no-wake. We are getting hammered right now. I am glad my house is in one of the highest areas of Jacksonville. The creek behind my house has doubled in size due to the rain.
Thanks much for the info.

Tom, we were using a weather rock..
Looks like I might be wrong for next week. If you read the info on the first link. Traditionally, a storm like Debby does not mean long term flooding for the Suwannee. Local flooding expected but will probably work itself out by next week. I dunno now.

Were supposed to be heading to the rock bluff area tomorrow for the weekend. By the looks of the graphs it doesn't look bad, anyone have any real time visuals of around that area? Should we still go?

Are the boat ramps all closed? Is it all no wake? I have heard the predictions are getting better and it's not going to rise as much as they initially thought.

Looks like we might just stay local or go to Silver Glenn or Blue Springs.
