    22 progression question....

Have a 22 progression with a 250xb 1.75 gears quarter inch above the pad low water pick on a stock LU running a 28 et ... hit 70mph at 5500 rpm's and does not have anymore to go i should be around 85mph all day... did a
compression test read 120 across the board so motor is good whats causing this ??? Also another issue if anyone has alternator experience ive gone threw 4 alternators in a year something is shorting them out.

I thought that motor was good to the 6100rpm range. Try a 27 pitch. 85 seems slightly optamistic too me but I may be wrong I would think 80 is realistic though.

"4 alternators in a year something is shorting them out." This is very odd, not that it will cause your low RPM/MPH but that needs to be addressed first. A short usually means you got blown fuse or melted wiring. Does the voltage output stay within spec and not produce a over voltage? What is the damage to the internal ALT?
