Would it be this high if we didn't buy ANY oil from over seas?
If we were drilling in Prudo Bay, if obummer didn't put the kabash on the pipe line....if the offshore drilling wasn't halted...if we were drilling in North Dakota?JOHN MASON

How much we import doesn't matter. Oil is priced through auction sales on world markets. The more oil that's availible in the world supply, against world demand is what determines price.
The problem is, the world has little surplus production capacity, so a loss of supply, or more importantly, the perception, or possibility of a loss of supply, will spike the price.
Our genius president tossed out Kadafi, and 2 million barrels per day of oil production came off the world market. That puts Iran in the drivers seat controlling the price. Every time that nitwit over there opens his mouth with another threat, the price goes up.
It's important to know that Iran is extremely desperate for money, and needs it's massive oil income to survive, that's why this guy is always doing something to create a crisis, it keeps the price high to maintain his income. Otherwise, he's out of a job.Living in the Freedom provided by Bud Conner and his fellow warriors.

Just came back from town. I'm 9 miles back to HWY101..(Western Wa) off a peninsula tip, to the nearest gas. Either way from there, 7 miles, is either a CostCo, or a Casino, with the cheapest gas. (Casino sells non ETH gas too, but only reg).
Agreed, the station by me..(actually two, so some competition, but they grab the tourist RV traffic, Olympic Peninsula ), was $3.65, 2 weeks ago.
Today? Reg is $4.......(ok $3.99 and 9 10ths)...Diesel at $4.40...
So maybe slightly lower in town, but bet no much. BUT!....
Its FEBRUARY! Not the winter/summer season gas "changeover" yet, refineries, much less the "driving season?..(if we get one we can afford!)
AND! This 9/10ths BS. Hey Canada, overseas, ya got the "and 9/10ths" crap too? Some days feel like buying a cents worth, and ask for change!
Also, heard on the local talk radio, that for every cent gas price increase? Cost us one billion in "lost revenue", that would go elsewhere productive. Thinking about it, it might make sense. Have to search that though.
