Actually, pretty interesting thread. Saying/knowing, the right terminology is a good thing, seeing what some carry/like interesting. Lotta neat opinions...always can learn something. Plus until spring and warm and wet again, kills time. ? on me, bunch us went in Reg army, clueless, all got split up, I was MOS truck and tank Mechanic, but little did I know, mechanics ended up in rear guntrucks following convoys. Lotta time motor pool basecamp too though. The rest is history..survived, got the hell out..never know what life will toss at ya.
And life is getting weird! Went to town yesterday, weekly load up. Stopped the Riteaid Drug store here, for beer. Grabbed a cart, got 3 30 packs, paid, back to the van, unload, ready to put the cart back in, and see a small bottle way in the corner. JEEEZZZZ Its a clear see through bottle of HAND SANITIZER, with a spring clip, to hang on a belt loop! Look a little funny on me though, biker chain wallet one side, sheathed knife, and that useless crap! Maybe empty it, fill it with over cleaner?..? wasp spray? Think of something, but leave the label!

Out here does. Cheapest to, beat the other food stores by a couple bucks. We have state run liquor stores, whisky, and beer and wine sold food stores, R/A, Wallgreens etc.

You don't have to go that far NH is the same way with no tax and you can open carry. Maine you can buy any kind of booze product in a market and also can open carry.

Not here, its insane taxed. No food tax, but they sure make up in everything else. Just last year, smokes went up tax a buck a pack..(use to get the mail order from back east, Indian rezes, 1/2 what cost here, but that jerk in the white house, who smokes, but the kabosh on that..no mailing smokes anymore), and beer went up another 50 cents a 6pk.

On driving, do not EVEN attempt it here, with a beer or 2 in ya. 4 beers will put ya over the limit, and kiss a good 5 years yer life goodbye, alcohol blow to start thing in any car ya own 6 months, probation, mandated AA 2 years, and $5000 easy.
Big money maker, state.

And its so bad, all the rural corner taverns are closing up. No more happy hour. We got one 9 miles back down the peninsula, "used to be", a great Friday nite spot, free peanuts..(gotta love tossing shells all over the floor!) ..but the cops had a easy target. Just sit some where the 2 lane back to the end, and theres NOTHING off that road, but side roads to small farms, houses on the water. Only one little county store, 4 miles back from me, and I live end. Now, I toss Friday nite hour, (or 6), here in the shop, for the real people that work, energy truck lineman, cement truck drivers, real people, and gearhead friends. Get well wasted. We all live a private blue collar HOA, and the cops can't patrol here, (unless called for something major). and we don't need any "security"..we ARE security. Much gets ignored, just don't push it, or get stupid.
Heck we got state cops that live here, there jurisdiction elsewhere, and when was the last time you went down the road on a gokart, wave at cop car going the other way! It aint perfect here, but what we got, I kinda like...swear, I'd put a bullet in my head, if I ever had to live a condo, in any city.

Rob you'd love Louisiana. In Louisiana your vehicle is considered an extension of your home. So you can carry a firearm loaded and concealed. Or on your seat, on the dash, in your front shirt pocket or wear it around your neck, if ya want to.
We also have a law that is actually called, "Shoot the carjacker".
