I've seen those used in pistol competitions. I believe it was to change the recoil characteristics. More of a straight back recoil giving you faster recovery from shot to shot.
Or was it this? http://chiappafirearms.com/product/729Last edited by CDave; 12-29-2010 at 11:44 AM.

If you want to see the biggest homemade explosion ever, just fill a SMALL balloon with an extremely Oxygen rich mixture from you Oxy-acet torch. The best way to set them off is to roll it up in a sheet of newspaper and light the far end of it. You want to be at least a hundred feet from it before it goes and 300 feet from the nearest glass window. At one hundred feet it will hit you like a volleyball in the chest.
Be careful of static electricity or any other source of ignition if you want to live.....
Not that I want anyone to try this........Big Sis...Last edited by JR IN JAX; 12-29-2010 at 01:42 PM.

The best mixture is obtained by lighting the torch and adding too much oxygen to the flame until it is a sharp cone/pale blue and then tap the tip onto something metal to make it go out. Let it blow for a few seconds to cool down and then slide the balloon over the tip and let it inflate. Getting the right mixture makes it ten times more powerful. If you accidentally were to detonate it they would not find much of you left....

Yep, (bet this aint the first time ya played with the red.green!
)
The balloon thing, has me a little spooky though, static...as I KNOW, what that milk jug did...(now you kids at home, DON"T TRY THIS AT HOME!
On the milk jug, gotta relate that story a bit more. Super nice guy at work, "Little Johnny", welder, just came back to work after open heart surgery. Seems he was in the "can", and just outside the door, was a massive press brake..(Reynolds Aluminum plant, back in Illinois, 120 yards long, Mach/Weld/Pipe wing). Dude sets the jug fuse, we all back WAY away, and just as its ready to go off, Johnny comes walking in the john. YELL..GO BACK!...BOOM! Shook the roof rafters dust down, that probably been there since the plant made WW2 bombs! Just too much fun!...(and yep, we were all called to the carpet VERY quick!)Last edited by Robby321; 12-30-2010 at 04:38 PM.

When I was a Teen [and later on] we used to make nitrogen tri iodide which was easy to make and great for gags. I painted the Christmas Presents at our company party, the toilet seats at the party, a friend's brake pedal, my Pastor's keyhole to his office and a doorknob at our church. The stuff was stable until it dried and once it dried it was so unstable a feather touch could set it off.
We also used to drip it on the floor going down the halls at school. It was seen as a harmless gag then, but today it would be a felony...
