yea it turned out pretty good. should have beaten the yellow boat on our outside but was some miscomunication between driver and observer. we were doing around 70mph most of the race and got upto about 80mph on first straight

I have been keeping an eye out for some good tunnel decks but nothing seems to be comming up.
So decided to draw up a modern version that will be built with modern techniques.
Please any input from guys currently racing or previously raced these tunnel decks let me know of things to look out for or that would be good to have if you had the chance.
Cheers Shayne

I'm not sure if any made it over there, but I'm sure some of the other guys may be able to answer that better than I can.
The old tunnel deck Bullets are definatly a great looking boat, but more importantly they do the business...
There is no dedicated race boats avalible any more like the old tunnel decks, just social boats made light with huge power plants. That are about as aerodnamic as a brick...

Ken Warby raced a bullet in Parker I think, back in the 80's. In a mod vp race. It was not a tunnel deck thou.

Nice looking boat. Right up the ally I'm looking at.
Can I ask the usual silly questions, how heavy, how old?
I have been getting more and more excited about the new one for a few features that the old boats dont have. The new design weight study brings it in at 75-80kg(165-175lbs) and very stiff. The laminate is based on the F2 ski boat we are using for the next worlds, it is very stong and a very light 20fter.
The other thing is the extra length, you may be the best person to coment on this it it will be better or not.

a light 5.2mtr boat is around 180kgs ,the new chance race boat is based on a stretched 1800 open deck and infused with the latest in infused technicues foam transim and it weighd 150kgs b4 the cell went in ,they have been adding weight to tryn get the boat to sit properly around 35kgs so far .so going so light is not always the best way to go ,my boat is 5.2 mts long and fully rigged without me weighs 500kgs!!wat are you lookn to do ski race or circuit or bridge to bridge ,also are you going to run a fat box or ssm?

I'm coming back from the states in 10days with a S3000 to drop on my 1850 bullet for some initial social fun, but want to change out of the bullet to something lighter due to my longing to get into some racing, circuit and bridge to bridge maybe. Don't get me wrong the Bullet is awesome and great fun when have it set up right, but when we had it built in '03 it was layed up pretty heavy on the scales due to only social fun.
I really like the new Labsports, what's everyone's opinion on the best monohull for circuit or bridge to bridge?
Speed Racer I see your on the gold coast same as myself, what workshop looks after your boat? Or do you do it yourself?
