Mikey I thought the 12 inch set back was better. To me your boat carries perfect. As for nose cones I was under the impression that they help over 50 I never heard the 90 rule.Thought you had a nose cone already .What prop are you going to try.... if you want to say? As for the motor comparison I belive they are evenly matched. Hope you reach your goal...85 is a pretty impressive number to shoot for.

Technically on paper your etec with the 1.71 gears and 6100?(or slightly higher ) rev limiter allows more propshaft speed then my motor can produce. This means you can go just as fast as I can on a smaller pitch propeller. The boat currently carries great on a 12 inch setback but if I am running into the wind or on a choppy day I have a very hard time keeping my foot in it. By reducing the setback a little bit I am hoping to keep the bow of the boat from wanting to pick up so easily. Currently I am not nose coned, just a stock case. The only 2 props I own are a 26 and 28 trophy. I am shooting for 85, but I definately want faster

How much weight do you think you saved by redoing the rear seet.I plan on redoing the boat this winer and am looking to save as much weight as possible.I may replace the cuddy cabin deck with baltec or something similar.I realise the newer hulls will never be as light but any saveings will certainly help.I will be also looking at different powerheads as well.
