if that wedding is the same date as the romp im not going to the wedding. im in class right now but im too anxious about boats to pay attention lol. hopefully be at the romp next year with a different boat

In terms of all out power/speed, how would you compare the 225 HO with the your previous Merc 250xb on the velocity?

The xb had a little more but not worth the extra fuel consumption in my mind. The xb used twice the fuel the 225 uses. The xb was just a little better on fuel than the 3.6 v8 300 that was on it. The xb i would say was maybe good for 3mph over the Evinrude. If you are considering the Evinrude it has far exceeded my expectations. I know alot of Merc guys are cringing that I am saying this. If you like really loud stick with the xb. My biggest complaint on the xb was the noise... my ears were ringing by the end of the day. It is hard to believe but all three motors made the boat handle much differently it was like getting in a starnge boat with each motor swap. Hope that helps.... off to work.

Romp is usually mid June...like Father's Day Weekend, so you should be ok.

Sounds like a good idea

I'm trying out the new coned lower with the Trophy first....hope to try a chopper 26 this weekend too....no idea what to expect so we'll go from there.
