Still hard to fathom, T/F rides, hitting 100mph, from a standing start under a second, and in 60 feet!

NHRA as them throttled back Nitro, other mods..(rev limits), probably now under 7000, probably 6000 plus. Its all done with math, weight, acceleration..etc. Aint a Dyno made that could handle it. I remember the 100% Nitro rides, sitting the stands, 100 feet away..hit the foot, and yer whole body shuddered, and over before yer eyeballs could focus again! And if no ear plugs, well, ya was stupid, and death for a week!

Still amazes me, Rick Stewart, has been the official starter for years! Has breathed in fumes, time smoke, for decades! And the last time I talked to him..(real nice guy), at the Nats at old S.I.R, (now Pacific Raceway...the original owner, sold it, and it got way to "corporate" for me ..and went downhill, unless ya got money...new grandstands, down to any walk around, "General Admission"..is toast...buy a seat, or watch from the end
Anyway, on Rick. Nats over, he been that starting line all day! Catch him walking back to his car, parked the side the staging lanes..."Rick, does the thrill ever get old?"...Nope..but I'm out of cigarettes, ya got one?"
Two things belong in the Smithsonian, when he finally gives up. His lungs, and that damn straw hat! Again, really nice guy

But that Nitro sound, is REAL music, my old ears...if they EVER outlaw Drag Racing Nitro, a "Cackle Fest" old school REAL rides...would still have my blood thinned out!

Looks like with the cold weather yer getting...ice should be good'nuff for a sled blast!

Close. I think we are all heading to the lake on saturday. Cant wait to get out there. Just hope the trails are groomed

Hey Mark..ya run mostly ice? Studded track? I had a buddy back Illinois, ran ..(this the late 70's)...with a studded track, Kaw sled, the biggest motor made then. Probably only a 440? He "bottled it", and it was a gas, to watch him, WOT...across the ice..then "hit the button"..."INSTANT BOOST!
Wish back they, we took more pix and vids!
But the mems, are forever, me..had a GREAT time, on .."GoKarts", om ice!

Posted close timing...how many miles trails .."maintained?". Sledded the Wisconsin Northwoods years! Just to much fun! Illinois was mostly running ice, the Chain Of Lakes..bar hopping, same as we would do in the boats...chithouse fulla FUN!

I do have 144 studs but usually only run the lakes to get to the trails. I also run the drags on the lake when they do them in february. So far best I have done is 93 in 800' Mine is an MXZ 800 145 H. she shure does have some giddyup

We do 100 miles in a day if trails are in good shape. Takes about 6 hours to do but we have a lot of fun. usually need a good nap after. I beleive you can make it to canada in the trails

Thats what I think I love the most about the. the acceleration to me is second to none. even at 95 when you hit that throttle it just wants to get up and go
