Double Rigged,
The beam on the 30 CC is 7'4". As for lacking a lot of fishing team related elements like live wells, hardtop, rod holders fish boxex etc....
The 30 has a HUGE fish box (8' long X 34"W X 17" H ) in front of the console. That should hold a few fish. The hull comes standard w/ 6 rod holders in the gunnel. And depending on the model leaning post you want in your boat. You could add another 6, plus the live well. Also, the hard top is no big deal as far as weight goes. The boat will still kick ass.
Our 30' hulls have been proving themselfs for over 30 years. As a matter of fact the 2007, 2008 and 2009 P5 World Champion Is Specialised Racing. A 30 foot Superboat. Due to the narrow beam, this hull can handle some pretty rough water. And yes it can run fast in 4-6 footers.

Not trying to knock the Superboat. One of my best friends has a 21. Awesome little boat. Just saying that I have fished a lot of years and 7.4' Beam and a low freeboard does not cut it. I know the boats are fast but I have run every boat under the sun in the last few years and have a hard time believing that boat will run with 34' to 38' boats in the slop. If you want to make a statement regarding your fish boat I suggest you bring one down the Grove Slam race in May 2010. You will get a lot press on all the fishing websites good or bad depending on how it runs. As for the guy with the 38 Fountain running mid 70's if it does not have triples there is no way it goes that fast.....
My Fountain full tournament load runs 75mph and will touch 80mph any day of the week with Moderate load with triple 350hp verados. Good luck with the new model. Look forward to seeing some down here.

Foutain does not rig a 38 with twins. He must mean triples.

No, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to come across that way either! I know your not talking trash, but I seen alot of boats as I too used to live in Florida. Homestead to be exact for just over eleven years. Our neighbor had a 32' Scarab cc, with twin 225's .....brusied a bone on my knee in some rough seas in that thing. We owned a 20ft SeaCraft with a 150 BlackMax. Lots of fishin on the rock patches, etc... when I was a kid. Good times, but as far as the Superboats go...VERY Sleek, VERY Light, and smooth riding when the riding gets rough. I'm not try to slam you by any means...just trying to make your transition and purchase of your NEW Superboat a smooth one.

I am hoping Mathew Caldwell brings his triple engine 32 Yellowfin with hopped up Optis to the slam race this year. A twin engie Superboat mixing it up would be very cool as well. Truth be told, if the water is big, the 38 Fountains with quads are going to be out in front. Invincible has a quad 42 in the works that might be a rough water "contender" (no pun intended) as well.

Invincible will definitely be a contender with a 42'. I have raced against the 36' Invincible during a tournament this year. It was the owner of the companies personal boat. Same triple 350hp verados. We ran wide open for 50miles and neither boat could pull the other. Side by Side. I would have to say the Invincible will ride in better comfort than my Fountain. Light load I can take him. If it was not for Reggie going broke a reliable source says he was going to show up to the Grove Slam race next year with a 38' CC with big block I/O's that would run over a 100mph to keep the bragging rights. Not sure if they still plan to do it or not. Deep Impact also has some fast boats.
I do not believe Yellowfin had a boat in the race this year. Typically from what I have run they are not as fast. We have outrun a quad engine 42.

Quad 42 YF is was not intended to be a fast boat. Cladwells YF will be a different story. If I remember correctly, there was a KF tourney that weekend and a lot of fast boats were unable to attend the GS.
