I am at the moment...average here 45 daily winter, didn't touch 32 today..."El Nino"..is at work here..ocean water...storms are going south, off the Gulf of Alaska..and dragging down cold Canadian air..so we get little rain now, clear, SUPER sunsets, but gonna be cold, the rest..(duh..SNOW IN TEXAS?)

That's a good map,looks like it settled down out there. Ive got one of those Honda 2000 watt gens if our power goes out but it never goes out for more than an hour.

Have a 5200 Gen, propane back up heat, as the house is all electric..(wind storms..trees..living 9 miles from the substation, have seen 4 days without..)..couple cords wood, shop heat, months food, stocked up beer, gas for the Gen...."I'm a good "boy scout"..BE PREPARED!"

Then go play in the snow. people here have sleds, that mostly go in the trailer, to the mountains, as we get little, if any, snow down here sea level. Average 3 inches a year. But we do get the "good blast"..sometimes, and we tear up the roads here!. And I wish I had a pic, my sled helmet. Solid full face, red flake front, but I took the back half, and painted it orange, with black tape, for "eyes/nose..and a smiling mouth". Looked just like a freaking "PUMPKIN HEAD"..that just blew ya off, passing. ALWAYS got a laugh off that! Sleds are a grin..."FAST.."gokarts on ice"...

Besides, the sleds,..(got pix..need to scan, the Fox Lake Chain).. and skiing, back Illinois...I "ice raced", a studded dirtbike, back in the late 70's.. winter fun, and to stay in shape, summer "moto's"..(Etec..this is out in front of Minielo..(sp), Fox Lake..also we raced at Lake Marie, another good "ice track"..
Just too much fun...TOO MUCH DAMN FUN...and "slightly crazy?"...scared the hell out of me at first, slamming a corner at 60+ ON ICE!.."take a left"? Always needed a "bottle of courage"....like a half bottle "Boones Farm, or "Ripple"..and then said .."Damn ..I can do that!....(now!) Great times, good people, never forget those days! Enjoy the pix, 35 years ago..(came off that bike, at 20 degrees, doing 10 laps, and SOAKED IN SWEAT!)...(which froze solid on ya, if not back out, or in the "bar"...DAMN..ETEC..."I miss the "Chain!"

ETEC, would know, out front the bar, On Pistakkee, "Happy Ours Resort"..we had a house just up the channel..used to practice "Ice racing"..out front, the bar. There was no "track", just a froze lake, little snow. We all had dirtbikes, studded..."sheet metal screws, drilled into the knobbies". Spent HOURS, any race, to replace..then back out again. The bike in the pix, was my Honda CR250. Anyway, I learned "Left Turn". on ice, at freaking WOT..plenty room too go..then slam that bitch sideways ...some where at 70, ..kick the azz end out, ..ROOST the rear, full throttle, knee on the ice, and simply walk it around.."depend those STUDS..traction" DAMN..such a grin I had, doing that

Ya gotta think, others here, who have never done it. Ya on ICE, ya ON A DIRTBIKE..going 70mph, ..ya lay the azz end out..FULL SLIDE ROOST.."wanna go left!"..and ya simply walk the sucker around, and then upright, full WOT, and lay her down again. Repeat!

Damn, I was an Wannabee..compared some the "masters"..(the Pro's)..who did the front end in the air, the.."straights!"..and hang that bike all the way to the corner..THEN ..slam it down, sideways.."the left turn!" Chit house fulla fun, back then!

Heres a few more, the "Reverend Horten Heat ..mostly plays west coast, I think, but these 3 guys ROCK"...buddy mine here, does custom Harleys, and builds "rat rods".., he's 42, DAD IS 70!.....they played a solid 3 hours, down in Portland, OR..and "DAD...WAS IN THE "MOSH PIT"...."catch them live, if ya can.."

Heres some of the "biker crowd", I hang with. ..(yeah, old farts, but takes work to get there!) The "Cow Chip Boogie"..IS famous here. Down south me, 100 miles, Castle Rock, the road into Mt. St. Helen's. The mountain "blowup'..pretty well destroyed, the original site. the race track. Dude was just here, who's dad started the original race track, now is moved , closer the Freeway, I 5. Still do 1/2 mile "flat tracking"..but the original "40 acres..PARTY"..still goes on..."AND INSANE"... we even let the cars in now, super 3 day event.."get naked, and Party!"
A little more, the "party'....many pix, ...just to much fun..and some "biker bands"..
Stay crazy.., NEVER "grow up"!
