Charlene, the race queen for the Elsinore 500 back in the day. Except for the hairdo, looks to me like all the parts were the same back then as they are today.....terrific

To Twisters Sister.....glad to hear you have enjoyed some of the spats I've had with the old guy across the pond. I'm just waiting for his release from "the home" before getting after him again.....it wouldn't be fair if I didn't give his meds time to work.

Saw this thread for the first time today when Willabee put his name up in lights and i saw the beloved "SHUNKY" in there. Tell him my old mecknik CHAS SHOOTER says Hi and sends him his best wishes. Just got off the phone with him .

My dad has a bunch of old racing pics from the 50,s in B.C. Canada when my uncle Perk Raced hydros. This is a pic of my Aunt with some the boats. I should have took the selafane of the pics before I took the pics with the Didgital.

Gofish my friend,----you have to be a serious MASO or have a death wish. I left the mother country ,never to return [and i'm still not certain it's far enough away]and the last thing on earth i need is a reunion with ,either your or my ex's.

I have read Scream and Fly for years but never posted on here. My father (whom has made me promise to let him remain nameless) is an ex-boat racer and that is how I came across Scream and Fly. I think he is afraid that I will embarrass him - I won't. He raced outboards locally in the 70's and then inboard flatbottoms in the 80's. My favorite boat was his K-boat. He would bolt in a passenger seat and we would take it up to the lake. If he still had that baby today, I would be driving it.

The picture I posted is from Ft. Lauderdale in July. My girlfriends and I went out in a friends boat with her husband and had a few too many. It was a great time. I only posted the picture because I thought it might liven up this site. There seems to be a lot of anger on here lately. Somebody posts something and then everybody shreds him. I miss the funny posts and rivalry between Willabee and Jackie Wilson. I hope that they start posting again.

Anyway...have a nice day and here are a few more shots!

Hiya TS, Willabee hibernates for most of the year -----he's also VERY old and unbelievably cranky. This comes from being weaned on panther piss and Jack Daniels with a Coors for desert. Now i'm not saying the old man was reared wrong, there was just something odd about his middle years that nobody could ever explain. Did you know he looked like Don Ameche for a while and in later years turned down an audition with the Adams family. This is only what i heard, i don't know how much truth there is in it.!!!!! He was married to Mercury for a goodly portion of his existence -------you can tell that, if you read his ramblings----bad effect on the digestive system. One day he may come out of slumber and fire up again-------watch for the puff of smoke as he lights the blue touch paper--------he'll be in like Flynn !!!!JW
P.S. Maybe we should start our very own thread---- "The Double Double You Show", it would keep us from screwing up all the other threads on S&F.

Thanks Greg I have a bunch I took when I went to visit my dad last summer. I was flipping threw the old albums at home and just snapped them out of the pages. Lots of reflection. Next time I go to my dads I should take them and scan the pics so theres copies. He has hundreds of old boat race photos from the late 1940,s to the 60,s. He one of my uncle crashing. I cant believe how they took them like this one way back then!! I mean its hard enough to get a action pic with the speed of the cameras today!
