If you have the room, these are great. We watch our neighbors TV, crystal clear 300 feet away!

1 1/2 years ago I bought 52" SONY 120 hz LCD. HD is stunning, Golf, football, NASCAR, the Planet Earth series DVD, then it was $2995.00. Now +- $1795.00
I think. Bought a 5.1 surround sound system also. The new ones have 240 hz, have not seen them. You will want one of these!!!! Logitech Harmony Remote 1000. One control to run all --sound, TV, Direct TV, DVD, CD player, VHS if you have one,, etc. Gave to the wife for Christmas, and she can actually use it. The six controllers were too much.

I have a 52 inch Samsung LCD 1080i...the colors are stunning and the Black levels are deep and can be adjusted, the picture is sharp and crisp. I did not put the extra money out for the 120Hz refresh rates, I could not see any difference at all with the sports or blur. Sony puts out a great product (I always owned Sony until the blue light blink) the Bravia XBR has problems and the cost of repair is alot when you get the red or blue light blink, most of the time it is the (voltage protection board) big problem with them and the cost is usually 500.00 and up and needs to be repaired by a Sony repair facility.
Here is some info....

I think cartoons will look about the same on most any TV.

I buy two year old technology. 2 years ago I bought a nice 52" samsung for 700 bucks. My neighbor bought the same tv 4 years ago. He paid 1800 bucks.
Now we both have the same tv, same picture, same sound quality, and I paid 1100 bucks less.
When I go to get my next tv I'll do the same, only I will pay 700 bucks for a tv that is nicer than the one I have, and the one I have will move to my basement or something.

Your so right!!!!
I had a Sony that sold for $4,000 back around 2005, nothing but problems and cost alot to repair...I swore that I would never do that again so when the set acted up again, instead of putting more money into it, I opted to buy the Samsung for $1,500 which was a brand new model leftover from the prior year which sold for $4,000 when it first came out. The market is crazy.....
