Dry-stack my looper.

Hey guys. I've got my 2000 200Johnson apart right now and decided I might as well dry-stack the motor while the powerhead is off and mid is on the floor of my shop. I just wanted to get some tips on what works best and what to do/not to do. I tried searching and got quite a few threads on the subject but most were really old and I was curious if there was any "new innovations" out there.

BTW my motor is a near stock 200 HO motor with mid-bores. Milled heads 125-130 lbs.compression. New style gutted airbox. Relieved exhaust. Nothing too fancy. I usually turn my 30 chopper 6400-6500 RPM.

Donno how to do it but mine is dry stacked i bought an adaptor that was done already... i can tell you it sounds and looks sweet( i think)

timing is fully advanced... helps when you stab the gas it doesnt hesitate as bad if at all

....

it idles at 1200 in gear with the 30 chopper II in the water

Just use the washdown button to control the idle

gotch what should a 225 looper idle at on the hose, and how do you adjust it, just wondering as my bro in laws motor idles low in gear and stalls frequently, idle in gear is roughly 550-650 sometimes when you stab it it feels like theres no fuel going into the motor it just boggs and stalls, carbs are clean, and it has a hollyred, with a claen filter. sorry to steal the thread dave, but their's alot of omc guys lurking in here at one time, figured i'd pick their brain.

theres an adjustment on the left side of the motor if your looking at the front of it, under the fly wheel, use a flat head to adjust it... believe counter clockwise it advancing it... could be wrong... start the motor and use a long flat head and play with it

Just be sure the throttle plates are fully closed on all cylinders when adjusting the Idle. If the plates crack open then there will not be enough signal to pull fuel threw the Idle passages correctly.
