I was wondering all along if the old timers were giving you *****, or trying to keep you from self destructing.
Looks like it didn't work.To fish or not to fish? What a STUPID question.

I had a fliver with a 35 Evenrude on it and surfaced the case. Not sure how fast it was but I could not go WFO without a passenger in the boat to hold it down. It never tried to blow over but would hook. Never had it upside down. I still regrete selling that boat after some A-hole stole the motor. Looking for a used one for my son. He's 7 so we will start with a 1950's 3hp and work up on each birthday

I suspect it was from to much weight in the rear and the weight being centered in the boat.
I bet it hooked! One way to counteract this would be add weight to the very outside of the boat and in the front too. Remember how an ice skater speeds up in a spin (centers legs and arms) and slows down by extending the arms and legs. This can be applied to the boat by moving the weight out.
