Leak Down Test Results - What do you think?
Hello all!I just got the results on the health of my twins. These are 1996 2.5 260's with 20" bass mids, and 2-hole CLE's that are stock. My guy said these motors are very low hour, hardly touched, and leak down was between 4-8% on all 12 cylinders. He also mentioned that it looks like they have never been apart. I am wondering if I should re-ring and top-pin cylinder these over the winter just because of age? My mechanic recommended that. He knew the history on the boat, and mentioned the rig was used hard.On a side note, I am also considering re-powering with new motors. Would you rather buy these as-is, or freshly re-ringed and piston-ed if I were to sell them? All opinions welcome! Thanks in advance!
