I’m sure you could rig up something pretty easy that would give you static balance. I wouldn’t hesitate to run a static balanced part. Did you reach out to Jay Smith?

Just talked to him. He doesn't balance anymore. He says on the flywheels he builds they are perfectly balanced. So I am still looking. Help! Carter

Try Chris Carson. Not sure he does it but it is worth a try. 305 852 2725. If he doesn't maybe he can point you to someone who can.

Powers does. He will do new magnets and ring gears and re-balance.

I spoke to them two days ago and they said that they only balance the flywheels that they build! This is starting to get really strange. I wonder why they would tell me that if you know what they can do.

Have you tried any of the regular (4S) engine builders... they all balance car flywheels for like $50: http://dprmachine.com/service-page/

Might try Jeff Dunn. He use to build billet flywheel not sure if he still does but he should be able to balance one for you. He checked one years ago for me.

I made a shaft at one point with the taper of the flywheel hub turned on it so I could bolt the flywheel on the shaft and had a local electrical motor shop balance them on the machine that they balanced motors that they re-wound with new windings. It worked well, a shop like that may be easier to find than a motor shop that will do it and do it well.
