Spectre Powerboats , WTF ???
been reading about the closing , Todd Lamb ? sounds like the guy got greedy and it has cought up with him , to the tune of 30 yrs. no nothing about the goings on other that he apparently bought the co. from a fellow and was throwing around some big sums of money and stopped, then began ripping people off for 6 figure digits for a couple years , got in the system and went belly up. Now is facing 30+ yrs of hard time , hate to see somebody make a stain like this on our industry. am I on base here ?

Just another piece of **** ….
https://examiner.org/witnesses-testi...inished-boats/
He stole over $930,000 from several different people who then spent money on attorneys. Thirty year sentence …. Have fun with that.
There are definitely some characters in the boating business - I’ve ran into 3-4 here in MN over the years also.

PS: I thought Spectre was a great boat - my first “big” cat was a 30 with 300’s. I’ve never had the chance to ride in a 32 or 36Last edited by mikesufka; 11-06-2025 at 06:21 AM.

From my notes of the Talon 22 molds ...... mostly from this site over the years .......... may or may not be correct?
2018 - Based in Bellefontaine, Ohio, Todd and Karen Lamb of Screaming Eagle Boats, LLC, have sold the tooling for the Gary Armington-designed 22-foot Talon catamaran, which is in the process of being developed/expanded into a 26-footer, to Dean and Gina Anderson. The Andersons, in turn, have formed Talon Powerboats, LLC.
2023 - Catamaran Coaches in Bradenton, FL, John Christensen - Lightning Power Boats now has moldsWalter Goetzmann

Marketing matters. The Talon 22 molds were collecting dust 25 minutes from here for a long time, and then went to Mr Lamb. Suddenly there was interest. Perhaps the molds are collecting dust again. I think it was/is a pretty cool ride.

Thinking Jeff Haag has this market covered fairly well at the moment........I wouldn't mind updating......with a single 500R

I heard the ones Lamb built were very heavy and didn’t run like originals.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.
