    Who's online?

8 members and 32012 guests. It's unusable. Someone is looking for a free hot lunch.

I was about to post about how very slow this site is reacting , VERY SLOW , couple weeks now , thought it was me but if I change to another , it's like normal . and new pop ups that take over entire screen are I think part of the problem.

Yeah, I've brought that up several times recently... probably 25,000 "bots" and a couple dozen scammers.

Yep. The pop up's seem to be locking up my computer. Freezes for anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes or more.

I don't get any popups and the site is still practically unusable lately.

I've tried turning off the DuckGo tracking protections and changed settings here to stop images, signatures, and avatars from loading; nothing helps.

Also, the editor is screwing up my posts... removing spaces & blank lines between paragraphs mostly.

I’m with you guys. I know a couple of you say it pays the bills and understand that but I’ll just wait it out for a while until Gregg sorts this tech stuff out.

Hey guys, site traffic has been very high, and I apologize. That issue is actually being worked on as I type this. Measures are being taken to mitigate the issue. I apologize.

I am making adjustments to the Google ads. I try to make sure they are not invasive. Those ads essentially do all of the heavy lifting with paying for this site's operating costs, which are enormous. But I try to do all I can to keep the ads as least-invasive as possible. I am working on this isssue.

Thanks Greg. Appreciate the effort. The site worked quick this time. I really don't mind the ads. I know they are necessary to keep the site going. But if they stop the site from working they are doing more harm then good.

I apologize for the pop-up ads; that is a type of ad format that I feel is much too invasive. Google will sometimes enable ad format types as part of their 'experiments' cycle. I have submitted changes that should eliminate them. It may take several hours for changes to take effect.

During the last several months, I have had three rounds with pneumonia and antibiotics that would not clear itself up, and as a result there has been a pause in site updates. I am back to work now (finally) and catching up on needed tasks.

I am enormously grateful for all of the support you have shown me and S&F. Very soon you will have a peek at the all-new S&F site that will be nearing completion soon.

    Thank you everybody,
    Greg
