Next year the modified outboard class will be in the 160s.... This stuff is crazy cool but if anything goes wrong and the propeller becomes a rudder at speed its game over. Kory locked up a motor at on the beginning of his 2nd pass at 80 and the boat made a hard left turn. Hats off to Warren, its a badass rig and lays down nice at big speed.

I enjoyed watching a narrow tunnel boat be the first one to 150. I'm hoping we don't have to figure out the limits of these outboard tunnels the hard way. Anyone else wondering what the v10 on boost would make? Presumably over 800 with the numbers I'm hearing from the 450s and 500s

I was at the Shootout and saw firsthand many of the runs. Without a doubt this was the single best pass of all weekend, everything considered. I start to pucker when we go over 100mph in our 28 Skater, I cannot even imagine 151.

REALLY
As Mom would say, Everything in moderation, and moderation is KEY
Stock Super Charged V 10 would be special, If the gear case can handle it.
What ever happen to Ratcheting gear cases
Best of luck with that new boat, I was hoping you would get it together this year

thanks guys .had a blast. they played alot of favoratism.the broadcaster.mr.inboard.special ed bob was so biased against me it was crazy.first day he called my 151 run fictitious.and he left out alot of things during the run including the speed.then i had a special some one boat builder spreading that i had all internal motor work no2 and as he put it many other things.despite the fact he never asked me or talked to me before spreading all this. so at the end of the day met alot of great people saw alot of great fast as boats and enjoyed all the parties..next up going to try to get near 160. and we will se where the new super charged v10.s take me with my little ol 28.

Out of curiosity how does one even get 151mph to pencil? I did 38p, 1.60 gear, 6800, 7% and got 142mph. Will these things spin over 7k without valve float?

They will, but not much over. There were guys here turning them at 7700 with smaller wheels. A couple hundred rpm with a 1.60 gear and big wheel translates to major speed increases. My 139 pass with 38s never went over 6800 in the data log. If the motor would have held on for the 2nd pass, it would have been over 7000 and over 150 mph theoretically.

I did see BT question the run. He has built a big business, been around the sport forever, and helped a ton of people over the decades but he's still having a hard time adjusting to what the wackers can do. You walked BT into the woodshed, full stop end of story.
