Can finally see the barn without having to look around the stupid boat!

Ordering gray shutters today to match the trim and paint for the posts on the carport.

    Should really pop.

It’s right by the road through our neighborhood so I really wanted it to be attractive to my new neighbors as well.

I love my Convincor, but I’m sick of staring at it for six months!

Way nicer view from the pool and the back porch.

    On the driveway though……, That’s a **** ton of concrete ($$$)!

And, our 40-year-old, 2 inch thick asphalt road does not like concrete trucks or construction equipment!

Definitely going to be a lot of concrete but it'll be really nice when done. Doesn't seem like a long enough distance from the road to justify using asphalt up to the concrete foundation and covered area.

My old shop was gravel so you couldn’t roll a motor lift on it, park a scooter on it w/o a plywood pad that I cut, etc.

Similar for asphalt down in this heat/sun.

That one was a 150’ behind the house too cosmetics didn’t matter as much.

Plus, I have a thing about having a nice shop but no driveway or is a PIA to get into.

BTW, you probably know but, they are building all around our area.

Maybe buy land and start w/a double wide and build later??

We were looking at that before this house surfaced.

Makes sense, asphalt down here can take a long time to not have issues with the heat.

Oh they're building everywhere lol. We're being pretty picky on location over here in/near Cantonment. Finally found 2 acres and had to back out of the contract due to a bad wetlands survey. The search continues, I'm in no hurry.

    Good for you.

We did same on property search.

Our realtor save our bacon when we were ready to write a check for two side by side one acre lots w/same issue.

Theyre basically trying to sell swampland!

Definitely trying to sell swampland! All of the resources we used said high and dry, the land owner claims to have done the wetland survey but didn't have it (yea right...) but also claimed it was high an dry to his knowledge. Wetland survey guy came out from the woods and said he strongly urged that we back out of the contract lol. Not one inch of the property was dry enough to do anything with. You have some more potential out your way but over here, if it hasn't been built on by now, there's probably a reason for it.

Gary, any thought about doing brick pavers for some or all of it? I know it can be pricey but one advantage is that you don’t have to do it all in one shot. Sorta, break up the cash outlay if you get my drift. Just an idea. Done right it will last forever.

Actually, I had, but not in time to do anything about it.

At this point, I’m on six months with the Convincor setting outside with a leaking cover and I want it inside before I lose the interior.

Funny thing is I have a pallet of leftover bricks from the house that I could use!

    We’ll see.

PS, Need to talk to you about you Checkmate if you still have it.

The concrete guys were here today and they killed it!

    Couldn’t be happier.

May have mentioned that the road that the driveway connects to is 40 year-old 2 inch thick asphalt and they tore the **** out of it while they were building my driveway.

They tied into it, smoothed it out and it looks awesome!

Love watching good concrete Mason’s work.

I was ready to buy 2 acres on the Niagara river, I couldn't believe $200,000 for such a nice piece, the realter said building no problem.

Yeah right, I went to FEMA flood zone maps and the property next door was built on the highest, only part of his 2 acres that was buildable,

and the property next door that I wanted had a 20x 30ft area that was high enough to build on, You can not fill in the land, everything is

controlled I was wondering why no one bought it for so long, Liars everywhere.

It ain’t a shop until you get a motor in there!

Question was, how to get the 8 from garage at the house, next door to the barn, across our very rough asphalt road???

The small diameter rubber wheels on the stands I built, don’t like rough surface and based on this wheel, I’d say I was very, very lucky.
