I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

You're right about that, we want more than we have now but are trying to keep the monthly expenses close to what it is. It will just take some time, all good.
Milton has some nice areas and is much more affordable than Pensacola/Cantonment and slightly more affordable than Pace.
Might have to take you up on the offer of some help some time. I've done decent so far getting to where I am at on the speed/stability, slowly testing different things, feeling it out, getting a tad faster each trip out. My wife is the limiting factor now lol, she doesn't care for being in the boat while I need to learn it. But then I can't learn it if I can't get to that point, ya know... I imagine once it clicks I will be all good.Last edited by Dain; 08-04-2025 at 09:40 AM.

If you run into any snags with wiring or need an extra set of hands on a weekend, let me know. I do electrical work and would be a good excuse to drop by and chat boat stuff.

Thank you, sir.
While knowing nothing about the panhandle until moving here, was always infatuated with it.
Cheryl retired a few years back and I kinda am now myself.
So funds are limited and our house in Ohio was very expensive to own plus the winters!.
Couldn’t afford to live back in Your part of Florida but could over here.
We actually started out three years ago in Gulfport, Mississippi looking and just kept coming further east until we ended up finding everything we were looking for here.
Still adapting but so far so good.
Anytime you guys are in the area we got a spare bedroom with your name on it.

...nice work gator. bet you can't wait for that first infamous panhandle storm to come through. my next door neighbor of 30 years recently moved to milton. a few years before that, i helped the neighbor across the street, move to bagdad. 20 or so years ago, when absolutely nothing was there, we called the area pace-milton-bagdad. very old & large lumbering history there.

And Women aren't allowed to wear shoes,
So they don't go chasing any Yankees home,
In 1992 I had a court date with contractors License dept,
This Gentlemen who grew up in Everglades city area was at court with bare feet,
Something I never saw before, didn't believe it was allowed
I'll only wear boat shoe type for beach foot protection, I haven 't had sandals since childhoodWe have invented the world; WE see
