BEST V-bottom under 20-feet with a single OB! GO!!!

With the new Mercury Racing 15" mids available in various offerings... I am thinking of building a fun 19-foot'ish hull to run the rivers, lakes and just see what develops.

What is the best bottom for a 19' v-bottom boat? I know there are dozens of opinions on the different Allisons, but what makes them so great compared to others? I am aware there is a visible difference between a few of them, what gives the best ride and control at higher speeds?

    {Insert T-Rex post about Hook'R Boats Here!}

    Thanks!!

That would be a little different. Most would go Allison but those new Venoms are in the 1-teens I believe.

The Lake and Bay 20' flats boats are tough, versatile and a proven snotty water runner. With a 300 you can expect nearly 90. Just something different to consider...

Definitely agree these flats boats are versatile and fast... just thinking something more protected as this boat had zero comfort and safety when running the speeds it was capable of reaching with the 2.5 I had on it!

I remember when they were about 15k from the factory. (early 90's)

A 17- 20' Sutphen would also be on the list. Classic looking, they ride great, and have decent performance. Can still get a new one I believe. I ran a 15'' mid on a 17' I had.

Rumor has it the Lake and Bay bottom was taken from a 20' Sutphen. Jean and Richie both raced jersey skiffs.

Any photos of what that bottom looks like? I know there are differences between the older Allisons and newer hulls... does anyone know what they are and did the hull get faster or just easier to drive?

Center consoles have been the Rage for years now,

    everything is a trade off,

    I just bought a Center Console, a 1978 11'4" Boston Whaler as a Dingy with a new 15 inch 25hp Suzuki, practical

At the in water Miami Boat Show this year they had 50 ft center consoles, one had inboards and the rear walls laid down to expand the seating area, $$, but more practical than just a small seating area like many others,

    I've always like the 21 ft Paramount's

    https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...7-48d9ef7faebc

Fast and fun. Not a lot of freeboard, and not very wide. But they are a whole lot of fun.
Paramount was owned by a guy I would respectfully describe as an over aged flower child. Never wanted to grow the company - was happy to build them in a small shop in Dania, Florida. But they were pretty well built.

The early ones had wood floors, but in the 90's (can't remember when) they got a liner and a glass floor.
We have invented the world; WE see
