I moved those two sand bags(about 50lbs total) from the transom all the way up front and it actually felt a bit smoother. The hump zone went from starting at 45mph up to starting at 47mph. So I guess that's some progress. So would I need more stern lift to keep the bow from bouncing?

On another note: I just bought a 1995 60hp Evinrude with Power tilt/trim. This motor weighs about 20lbs more than my 48 with the jack plate and Lemco. But I plan to try it without the jack plate. I think that may be causing me issues. Seems like too small of a boat to need a jack plate. I tried one on my 12' Glen L bullet with 35hp and it went from the hump zone starting at 28 to starting at 17. I already have a dozen different props that fit this gear case, including a Raker 22. I'll give it a try as soon as I can track down why it has no spark.
