Are we allowed to reflash mercury ecu's again ?

I wonder what a new Mercury Racing motor would cost if you could "opt out" of the warranty at the time of purchase? I suppose you would lose some value if you sold it when it should have been in the warranty period as you would have nothing to transfer.

They are around 7K less with no warranty.

The problem is every 1 in 5 guys that blows up their powerhead with a tune still tries to cover it under warranty.. sending reps out to scan ECU's or having the motor shipped in for inspection all starts to add up $$ quick.
