Lake Havasu 200+mph Crash
Haven’t seen this posted on the site so if it is somewhere else, sorry!
Crazy speed and lost it.
They both walked away from it. Broken collar bone and ribs. Really, really lucky!

It's all over the news. I have seen 6 or 7 different views of it. Amazing the safety built into those boats.

Id say there was nothing but luck.
IF that boat landed on the passenger compartment it would have been like ocean gate!. It kissed the water and the back of the cockpit crushed!.
All that money and they are in tee ****s and shorts.
They need, real driving suits, Hans devices arm and leg restraints and a significant drivers cell. Think Top fuel drag boats or unlimiteds. Further the mass they have under then further up's the need for a massive improvement in the driver capsule.
Lets move past the complete lack of operator risk mitigation and move on the the fact that they drove it over. It warned them once, and they pushed farther into a headwind in a largely untested package. With modern electronics (motec in this case) the onboard telemetry could and should have had significant programmed overrides with the final boundary crossed ending with parachute deployment.
Those boys were on an ego ride that with the grace of god allowed them another day to breath, almost any other reentry with the water would have ended them both!
The quick math at 210 mph the water creates 630 psi of boundary layer, not accounting for the boat coming down on top of you. (100 mph is 143 psi and most of you have seen what that does to an STV)
LOVE the concept, LOVE the determination, LOVE innovation HATE HATE HATE the Execution.2023 TUFF 25

This crash really puts into perspective that Gary Smith ran 204 at the same event in the same boat (388) a few years ago... With an open cockpit.

That acceleration is crazy. Who knows what it's capable of, but it looked to be still pulling hard at 200.
