You know what’s presently great about this country is you don’t have to buy one if you don’t want it. If the dems get there way, it will be mandated that you have to buy it. If there is a person on earth who could tackle a "project" of this magnitude and break it down into "solvable" sub-parts and​ task the right people with developing solutions... it's Elon Musk. He's making Boeing & NASA look like the monkeys they used to shoot into space!

It's not like Mr Musk would be the first smart guy in 40 years in 4 countries to try to make government efficient. And its not like his track record is perfect. Space X is great. I think he has lost his way with Tesla. The Cybertruck is a mix of technological advances and strange choices that winds up being no better than a Ford. Car and Driver rates the electric pick ups as Rivian, Ford, Cybertruck, Silverado. Worse, it seems like new vehicle development at Tesla has entirely shifted to fully autonomous, which may remain 5 years in the future for decades. And no one thinks that Mr Musk has turned X/Twitter into a profitable venture.

I remain a huge fan of the Tesla vehicle design and manufacturing technology.

Mr Musk has been musing on X about a $2 trillion spending cut, which he says would tank the stock market and the economy briefly, but would be beneficial long term. I doubt that Mr Musk and Mr Trump are on the same page about this.

The book I read about efficiency in government did say that cuts are cuts. You get less. But not any more efficiency. Less is always popular in the abstract and unpopular in the specific.
