Hi, Just a quick update for anyone following the Verga 12 mini boat. we finally got it on Lake Erie which has similar conditions to the bays in the ocean these boats were designed to run in. There's a video on you tube from the 80's of a Verga running in what I believe is Barnegat Bay in NJ.

It was quite a ride, lots of air and a top speed of 41MPH by GPS. This little boat is a blast!

I was in the 100 mph zone with a midsection that was reassembled without that wavy washer in place, Galen Burton just lightened it, we couldn't figure out what was causing it at the time, we were downriver from the big Jasper drag race, my wife was screaming as she took the pictures because she was so scared, but the boat felt safe just hoping at speed.

I grew up at least for about 6 yrs on LBI the races at Barnegat where the big event the whole family went. We lived in Beach Haven. I remember most the garvey races. Great Post thanks. Rick
