I am not interested even with those specs. Per the engineering explained video, an efficient car would use 105 gallons of 10,000 psi hydrogen to go 300 miles. This would fill the interior of a lot of cars. A hydrogen powered boat would have all its interior space devoted to fuel storage, or it would have enough range for some short wakeboarding and water ski runs.

Ok. I just watched the videos on the new Yamaha 4.3L V6 350HP. It's not Hydrogen powered. It is gas powered. They said it is the lightest in its class at 286kg = 629lbs. That is 66lbs less then Mercury's Seapro 350 or 400R V10 at 695lbs. But 117lbs. heavier than the 300R at 512lbs. I would think if a boat can hold a 629lb outboard, it could also hold a 695lb. motor. I would also think a boat big enough to hold a motor that big could benefit from the extra torque generated from the extra 4 cylinders. For some reason torque ratings are never mentioned on outboard motors. I would think a V10 would have a lot more low end torque than a V6. Anyway, I think Mercury is going to figure out a way to pump up the 512lb 300R or the 527lb. 300HP Seapro to 350HP. But they are all way to big for my 17' boat.

89 octane and only 6k RPM as well, the big selling point of the V10 Verados is 87 octane, 6400 RPM and the 2.08 gear ratio makes them stump pullers

I thought the v-10 was close to 900 lbs???
As in, clearly aimed at replacing twins.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Glad to see Yamaha upping their game on the big motors. And thank you Mercury for being the industry standard for big power.

Interesting how much different it is to the Yamahas 4.2 V6. When comparing to 4.2 F300 it is almost 1kg heavier per 1 increase in horsepower.
Any ideas where the increase in weight comes from? Much more robust / thicker engine block? If so I would imagine that would make it to have good potential for ECU and aftermarket power increases.
4.2 is possible to ECU tune to ~330hp and Nizpro offers a 500hp supercharger kit for it and there is a video of them pushing it to 633hp. It will be interesting to see what kind of stuff Nizpro will be offering for the new 4.3.
