Skid Planer
I am building a skid planer for a mod vp hull to improve the holeshot. I have seen pictures and in person some that butt(with a seal) againest the transom and the Allison instructions which say to mount 2 inches from the transom. Is one way of mounting better then the other?

I don't know about the seal, but this is mounted per the Allison instructions and it works great.

The ones guys have built themselves where mounted flush. Thanks for the excellent picture.
