I not to sure if the cone is for a inline or not,I bought it from my Preformance boat marina that sells them, doesn’t say anywhere what it is but if I were to guess it’s the V6 one, I had to do a lot of grinding to get it to half ass fit and still not 100% happy with it.
Im gonna talk to my local propeller shop and see if we can possibly redo it since they do skeg repairs every day or look at new lower unit..

Finally the boat is back in one pice again! I Used 3M 5200 to stick it back together, then filled the inside gap with thickened resin then tabbed 1708 between the hulls.
Flipped the boat then started making new trailer bunks and adding 2 more to support the boat better on the trailer.

There gonna be my new trailer bunks, I put fiberglass on them to help waterproof them so the bunk carpet isn’t holding water on the wood.

Nice Job on the exhaust and the nose cone! And the boat too. Sorry about the skeg. Lot of bad can come from that coming off. Although technically you are not going that fast, It's fast for that size boat. It still wont be fun if it comes off. If you do get another lower unit, at the speeds you are running you may be better off without the nose cone. They look cool but they say they are unnecessary below 80 MPH and even slow you down. Bobs Machine sells a transom mounted water pickup. You can jack the motor sky high and still have water pressure. If you are interested. I have the water pickup and a lower unit from a 115 that has been drilled and filled for it already. It should bolt right up to your motor. The difference is the gear ratio. Yours should be 2.3:1 this is 2.07:1. It will spin the prop faster. I also have a 22P Quicksilver Chopper prop in excellent condition that the line cutters have been modified to fit. I will sell them cheap. Let me know if you are interested.

Hey buddy! Thanks for the kind words! Yea I’m bummed out about what I did to my skeg.. yea I may be interested in that since I only have the one lower unit for it, just upset about the fact that I put so much into the the lower unit just to find out I screwed it up..

Look at it for what it is; A lesson. We all face lessons every day theres an endless supply of em lol. Dont let it ruin your fun man get creative maybe hang the empty case of that one in your garage for wall art. Cool piece plus you made it yourself more to be proud of. Anyways if i had a nickle for every time i built something only to have it fail or not even work at all. Its part of the game

It would be pretty cool to hang it on the Garage wall! I’m not gonna risk running it because it’ll ruin the fun because I’ll be in the back of mind every time I get in the boat.
just kicking myself for making a mistake.
But at least I’m learning about it the easy way not out on the water ya know.

Paint time! I painted the bottom and ended up with a bunch of runs in the paint so I ended up sanding the entire bottom and re-sprayed it, the second time turned out beautiful. This was my first time ever using a spray gun so I was trying to get a feel for it.
my 2 compressors couldn’t keep up so I was sprayed at a real low psi at the gun, after the first minute they couldn’t hold good enough pressure so I had to make the best of it.
I used Awl grip epoxy prime & Awl craft paint.

Thank you! It was tricky to spray and it didn’t help that i built a paint booth in my shop a wood frame hung from the ceiling and plastic hanging down with no air exhaust or return it would fill up very quick with overspray and is was so much that I couldn’t see what I was doing hah but it turned out pretty good.

Got the boat flipped over and painted the top!
honestly if I were to do it over again I’d do it in gel paint it real hard to spray without getting runs and fish eyes, but it turned out good.

Looks great! Only you will see the imperfections for the most part no one else will notice. One of the difficult things about building your own stuff is you know all the flaws. Be proud of what you have accomplished here this is a huge effort and your build turned out really good.
