There is talk of two more outboard classes, single engine Cat and V bottom classes, a lower cost way to race.

@Cud es… The Vision guys said that for 2023 they wanted to shoot for the outboard world speed record. You seem to be mates with Sean/Shawn/Shaun (sorry don’t know how he spells it). What have you heard on that front?

Last year they went 104 or 107 or so on over clocked 180’s pushing 330 that they dialed back at the end (they never said why). I think they are going to need more than even 330 per motor to set the record. And they should probably get to the bottom of why they have to dial back in the middle of the run. I suspect it has to do with dangerously high discharge rates. I don’t know how you fix that without more batteries. But that’s more weight. @Cud es… Any insights here?

They did 109 mph, I sent you Randel Truesdale number from Vision, he's happy to talk to you.

I bet they will be in the 500 hp bracket next year.

Ok. I’ll give him a jingle on your say-so. I find it hard to believe that he would hand out tech info that he won’t give in a video, to a stranger over the phone. But you seem to think he will. :shrugs:

Looks like the hull has been split in half to widen the tunnel?

The CMR boat (MTI), had to have the tunnel (Narrowed) as it was built to X-cat spec and TOO WIDE for the S-class.
