Passing of a true pioneer in the boating industry
It is with the deepest sorrow that I inform the boating world, customers of John's Custom Marine and friends of the passing of a true pioneer in the boating industry. A friend to all, mentor to many, a man with a big heart. Known by many as BIG John. My father John Stoker passed away earlier this year. Dad had asked our family to keep it private until mom had some time to adjust. While we all miss him each and every day it's time to inform those that knew him. To those that knew of dad's passing the family thanks you for honoring those wishes. We are as I know dad would be, honored to have this year's Parker Enduro called the John Stoker memorial race.

So sorry to hear Alan. I remember meeting your dad back in the 80's when my brother and I visited you. Your father even offered us some of his home made chili....my condolences to you and your family. John

So sorry to hear Al.
Never had the pleasure to meet him that you I did. Based on that I’m guessing the Apple don’t fall far from the tree. As much as he had to of been involved in……..everything in your life, I can’t even imagine.
I hope your mom is doing as well as can be expected.
Prayers to Big John, Mrs Big John and to you Al.
May he Rest In Peace.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Big influence on outboarding here in SoCal, and kept the faith here long after others left. Will always be remembered for that.

When I was a young man reading Powerboat, Alan and John Stoker were always impressive.
