I think this is very important to highlight.

Had a vegas that previous owner said went 72. Got it home, drove it 72. Pulled into the dock, raised jackplate, went 76, came back, raised jackplate, went 80, repeat, ended up getting to 85/86-ish by only raising jackplate. Same prop.

On current boat. set jackplate 'low' to be conservative, went about 63 mph and handled poorly, raised a click, repeat until I lost water pressure and went too high, drop back down one click, went 85 (with 200).

It's really neat in my opinion to play with that stuff and feel how differently the boat reacts and how your speed changes. Something that simple makes so much difference.
