Guys at merc told me a ET has a limited life span. Keep that in mind.....Very thin and long blades with lots of cup at the tips. It's designed to flex. But only so many times. All these types of props are limited run time imo.

They do take a beating surfaced @ 100 mph,my et is cracked now but it was banged up and repaired when I bought my boat it just came with it.

It's important to keep an ET maintained. Leading edge nicks can turn into cracks in a hurry because they are thin. My ET cut Chopper is about .2 mph quicker than my real ET and I've been running it forever, first as a stock Chopper then had it cut about 8 years ago. The cut Chopper is the best option in my opinion.

I was all set to buy an et then read some great things about the Hoss Triton and one came up that has been labbed so I bought it. Very thin, but very interesting cut and it is so sharp! Hoping it works as good as it looks.

As for the above comment re the nicks turning into cracks, that is very true. Just like paper which can be tough the moment a split in the edge appears its a hundred times easier for the page to tear and the same principal applies to metals. Any nick, chip, or little crack can quickly turn into a big one. Keep those things smoothed out and you'll have better durability

Do not use any file or whet stone on a prop. I got a large diamond sharpener and it works real well for detailing the edge.

I understand the reason behind not using a file. Why not the stone?

Stone leaves grit particles imbedded into the steel. It's less hard than what your working on. Diamond is def harder so leaves no residue. Old prop guy taught me a few tricks about prop care.
