    Perfect Pass??????

I thought outboards just need an ON/OFF switch??? You mean to tell me that some boats need a variable throttle?????

Anyways not to hijack with above low pitch prop and practise you should get it pretty consistent without the need for perfect pass. Its been so dang long and all that booze makes it foggy but iirc perfect pass was more of a way to prevent the diver from being able to influence the outcome of the competitors. Even a 2 mph slower pass might be just enough to get another buoy and seal the win. Andy Mapple, what a skier
Slalom skier's passes are timed with a stopwatch, half course and end gates, so there is almost no error in speeds thru the course. "Good" slalom drivers cheat the course to add length to the ball side when the skier is there (to essentially lengthen the rope length to the turn ball).

Perfect pass just makes the driving easer for the driver.

But will it dock your boat, then back your truck into the ramp?

Are your girls really that lame?

Running a 68" HO Monza @ 36mph thru the course and have a Perfect Pass digital speedo but no Perfect Pass speed control always thought about it but seemed to be to complicated for an outboard I found that using a 5 blade "High Five" prop seems to" lock in" the water with less variation than 4 blades for lower speeds a 13 or 15 pitch prop might help but would have to come right off for normal boating unless you just want to test your Rev limiter.

Usually we use a 22 Raker on our 150HO Etec for everything. Cruising, 60+ mph, and skiiing. Great for slalom skiing, easy enough to hold 28 mph, plenty of pull out of the hole. Medium difficulty to hold 18 mph for trick skis. Harder to hold 12 mph for my disk. If I am standing on a stool on the disk I like a steady pull. We have a 17 Raker for pulling 2 slalom skiiers at once. The trouble with 12-18 is the boat is not really planed.

Merc's version is called "SmartTow" and it's been around for at least 10 years.

had a similar issue once. We raised the motor and it helped with low speed planing

The motor is as high as possible without drilling new transom holes (no) or putting on a jackplate. Raising the motor is an interesting suggestion though. That might be why the new J Crafts recommend a hydraulic plate

Hydraulics are nice I use one on my salt water boat but use Bob's mechanical on the race boats, set back is always nice lets you raise the motor and still have water pressure.

Is your gas tank under the deck or at the rear? My tank is under the bow and I find it needs to be 3/4 to full to keep the boat as flat as possible when waterskiing skiing. My 19 Jcraft is not ideal below 24mph. For the slow speed trick stuff I use our pontoon. Stays perfectly flat at the 12 to 20mph as you mentioned you are trying to obtain. The new Jcrafts could get away with a jackplate since they are 21' now (2 feet longer) vs 19' to accept the newer 4s heavier motors. I think adding a jackplate in your case will make your slow planing issue worse.

    Suggestion:
Try a smaller prop as previously mentioned.
Try putting a 25 lb. bag of sand - or 2 on a non skid pad at the bow to see if it helps improve your situation. For $ 5 it is a pretty easy test to see if it helps. If it does then add a bladder tank under the deck. Flick of a switch fills it up to keep the nose down at your slow speeds, flick of a switch to empty it. If I didn't have my pontoon boat to use for slow speed (below 20 mph) water activities then I would be adding a bladder tank under my deck.

We have a bow tank and my usual driver is 260 lb. But I could keep the tank more full. That's easy and a good idea. I could pour in a gerry can when I get to 1/2 instead of adding gas when it's empty

I like how they have an "add to cart" and "checkout" buttons, complete with PayPal link. Yeah let me buy this $300k boat with my PayPal account. Just like buying a new pair of shoes!
