    Get it right, it's an opti-pop. And I have 4 of them. Great motors....They were far from a flop...

    Well, as with all engines, how well you treat it is what your return will be. Yes, Opti's had a rough start, but so do many other new tech engines. Use good gas, the right oil, stay up on the service bulletins, service the injectors and keep the water out of the gas. Most important, don't run them at the limiters.

    I'm not the one complaining, "Insane-o" is. I like mine and Merc. managed to sell quite a few of them so there will be a good source of parts for a while even as Merc stops suppling them.

    Ok, so I finally got all my pricing back, except for the cost of having the manifold made. The price will be $300 USD to your door. (continental US and Canada), this does NOT include any import tax/duty that may be applied by our governments when crossing the boarder. Heres the plan:

    1. 3 1/2" gauges
    2. 5 foot hoses - Sound Good, or would you suggest a different length?
    3. I can't find a Scrader valve made for push-to connect hose, so I will use regular hose with clamps.
    4. I'm trying to still source some low profile Oietker style clamps in stock in the size I need, or would you be ok with the "regular" Oeitker Clamps?
    5. Aluminum or HPDE? I'm going back and forth on this. I am starting to lean towards aluminum.

    If you guys help me out on a few of these prefereance type items, Ill make the call on them and start ordering. Some parts are a few weeks out.

    EDIT: As far as the hose clamp style goes, I could also use ferrules and a crimper if you guys would rather, but the crimper is $1000, and the dies are $200. If thats the consensus I will gladly go with that option, but if you deem it unnecessary then I won't at this point.

    Just an update,
    Still working on this. Everything is sorted out, but suppliers are being SUPER SLOW on getting back to me with availibility/final quotes. Ready to pull the trigger once they do. For those of you that are interested, thank you for your patience.

    This is what I made for myself
    Have Used it a lot
    Works well and was very cheap
    The Schrader Valves were from Snap-on
    Great as there are different sized Barrels available
    Gauges are good quality without been crazy
