It's amazing how much strength a few well placed changes of direction add to the integrity of a part .
I'm sure you will see some corrugation ribs added to future parts .....

Maybe change the materials - They may have to switch to a steel clamp.

Pretty hard to beat a good ol triangle for shear strength ...

Maybe if it were monocoque plates or tubular I could see going with steel . Otherwise it would be extremely heavy .

I would think that Mercury Racing could even stick with cast aluminum if they did a redesign with some reinforcement features . Pretty good indicator of how much they really care will be if the aftermarket comes up with a fix before they do ....
