Suzuki has been running the exhaust valves with cable operated servos in production since 2003 on the Arctic Cat two strokes. There are sleds out there with over 12000 miles on them. The biggest enemy on them is guys using cheap oil that carbons. I still have an old F7 twin and the valves have been pulled one time for cleaning in 15 years (but I do run the good oil and keep it on a steady diet of aces). The spring systems work great when they are clean and free.
Its all a numbers game (we are such a small market segment that wants this stuff and a micro market that will buy it new).

Your not going to get an 850 cc motor to push tritoons and fishing slugs around.

the simple math shows that even an old school v8 looper block with standard Etec hardware could easily make 350 -400 and be lighter than anything else in its category. I'd love to see it but you have to ask, Is a 350-400 motor necessary to be a successful outboard manufacturer? Nothing wrong with concentrating their efforts on 300 hp or less. Kinda like how Toyota sells plenty of trucks in the US and doesnt build a 3/4 or 1 ton to compete with Chevy/Ford/Dodge
