Until we get the electric motors. Lets get Tesla to make an outboard motor! Just store the battery in the boat where the gas tank would go.

I just got my BF 150 shop manual in the mail today. The specialty tools alone might break me.

I was wondering if someone would do this on the smaller engines to where we can have some hope for the future.

I think this is a cool project, however there is to much negativity involved with the nah sayers.
If no one ever tried anything we would be stuck with the same ol, or nothing at all.

Agree 100% with you Mr. Ashby. No negativity on my part I assure you. I just get curious for more details when the envelopes are pushed.

I haven't noticed any real negativity yet. It's definitely an experiment, but so far so good. Could be an economical alternative, using new technology for 225 HP + engines.
This engine makes more power in the higher RPM. Goal was to have it around 8,000 RPM. I think this works well on lighter fast hulls.

. If you are looking for a good read, I'll post a link of a 500hp NA k24 that was completed by the same people that are the brains behind this venture (I think). Curious to see if they can make ~250-300 hp with a reasonable amount of added cost on these engines. The k24 is a similar engine to the BF150 to my understanding.
