There used to be a great lab analysis online of all the major marine two stroke oils but its gone now. Scrubbed clean from the internet. Im pissed I never took a screen shot. The results showed all of them almost identical except Merc Opti and Yamalube high extremely high moly levels.

Anyone have any strong opinions (facts) about the protection offered by the Alisyn pre-mix oil advertised on the site? I'm running a 2.5 260 and while I don't often take it up above 7, it does go there. I've been running Klotz and Mercury oil but I'd like to support companies that support the forum if their product is at least as good. If it's better, fantastic, if not, I am not willing to sacrifice protection at any price. Thanks guys.

I'm the original poster of the poll and I also posted it on The Hull Truth forum. Here's what I learned:
Pennzoil is by far the largest seller of outboard oil. (I knew this, I used to work for SOPUS who owns Pennzoil Quaker State.)
SuperTech (also from SOPUS) is also a big seller.
The S&F crowd also picks Pennzoil the most but not by as large a margin. They tend to lean toward Quicksilver, because there's a larger percentage of Mercury owners here and "Other" meaning the various products marketed toward high-performance minded buyers; Amzoil, etc.
The THT crowd listed XD-100 as the second choice probably because there are more Evinrude owners that believe the hype about 100:1 benefits but SuperTech was the third choice and only these 3 got more than 10% of the vote with Pennzoil at 40%!
Wildman even runs SuperTech, Walmart oil he calls it.
NOT A SINGLE PERSON mentioned a lubricant related failure!!!
There you have it. Now

Ive been using the Allisyn in a steel sleeve motor on a heavier bass boat (so she’s is working hard) up to 8,100 and over 7 all the time with very good success. Never any lubrication failures. Just swapped power hard for another set up I’m playing with and still had cross hatches in cylinders after 4 years of torture. Never have any carbon buildup either. Only thing I dislike about it is it’s funny smell lol. But I can deal with that being it’s performance seem to be top notch.

I almost tried it a while back but never did. I love the Schaefer’s products and use it in all my personal vehicles, and use the grease, cleaners, and spray lube in our shop. I am a Schaefer’s dealer just never tried it I my Outboard’s just because believe in the old saying don’t fix something that ain’t broke. I would believe it’s a good product. They use a lot of moly in their lubricants, not sure how that works in 2 cycle oil?

Interesting that Pennzoil is the number one seller. Jay Smith recommends 100% synthetic pennzoil in motors under 8000 RPM, but I can't find the 100% synthetic anywhere. Did they discontinue it?

I like using cherry fuel fragrance its hard for the haters to yell at you when all they smell is cherry aroma around my boat and they are sporting smiles and inhaling with their noses.
If I don't ask any questions, I'll never learn anything.
