Too bad it's gone, I was hoping he would get it one the second try. You got to give credit where credit is due.

these threads are definitely more interesting than. ....."my motor running hot"
i wish there were more threads like this. ... without the
arrogant attitude. .... I'm highly interested in learning porting and modding these old motors asI'm sure others on this site are too........ kinda hard to learn when u got your ears closed.
i commend the ones who tried to help. .... and keep helping even after the rants. ....u got more tact than i81' HYDROSTREAM VECTOR / slightly Modified 200

Like I started to post on there "Even though you're not listening to what a lot of really sharp guys are telling you, there are a lot of people who are... So at least the thread isn't a total ****show of your ignorance"
He was told on FB to START with 96-98 jets in those WH20s (or 22s, whatever he had) that 80-somethings would not be enough for keeping his foot in it. He totally ignored it. I'm glad he burned it down, because stupid SHOULD hurt.> Stainless steel Merc cowling plates - $110 shipped TYD - LINK <

It wasn't his port work that people had a hard time with. It's his attitude that he's doing something out of the box and no one is qualified to give him advice. His matter of fact opinions gave the feeling he was passing himself off as a guru. Humility goes a long way!
Taking a 150 or 200 block, cutting on it and sticking WH carbs on it has literally been done thousands of times. He thinks his port heights are ground breaking but they're not. He talked about how fast and powerful it was but had no base to compare it to. Almost anytime someone tried to offer advice they were basically greeted with a middle finger and were told they need to step out of the box, usually in a vulgarity filled rant.

If you want to know what works get your hands on a 280 or Drag block and look at everything they did. Mercury race engineers are not dumb and had immense money and resources at their disposal. The Drag and 280 are the culmination of that. There are a very small handful of people that can improve on what they did and even then it's extremely minimal. My advice would be to copy those blocks. I'll give you an example, you see these blocks that the shade tree guy hogs the chest out on and compare it to a Drag. The shape of the Drag is not an accident

The crazy reactions are what did him in, I missed the last blownup but it must of been bad since it looks like he not only deleted his thread but his account too.
Best wishes, but at the same time

#6 only, the talk was bias timing on 6 , Forbes. Might have leaned too much also but the rest were good, likely not porting. He had enough of the bs comments he said in a PM, other factors as well. Don't blame him really, lots of great work on the boat and putting his ideas in the motor builds. Who needs the meaningless belittling, say your part and move on.

I was trying to advise him on what I know on fuel flows. The numbers I were telling him weren't pulled out of thin air. I've been privy to dyno time on high horsepower outboards with an expensive fuel flow meter in line to measure fuel burn. I was dismissed

I recall him defending your input but I don't recall the details, I think he valued all input from everyone, seeing if it applies or benefits his ideas is his decision. The thread would have read a lot better without all the noise and just pure technical reasoning from all.

Why bring that up, I wanted to see that. The drama wins like a gossipy bunch of school girls. Now everyone go like him on fakebook, tell him you love him.
