The size is 1 1/2" dia. with 16 threads per inch(1 1/2-16). It is an sae thread, not a pipe thread.

Just a little side note to this thread. My 10,000 psi Enerpac systems 5 ton cylinder will thread into a Merc flywheel. I machined a cap that screws into the cylinder rod that keeps the crank from getting damaged. Dave
